A man was hacked to death in front of his wife in Pabna

Going home in Pabna in front of his wife. A man named Sumon Pramanik (40) has been hacked to death in public. He was hacked to death in front of his house in Dakshin Ramchandrapur village of Dogachhi union in the district headquarters on Saturday noon. Sumon's wife said she had identified some of the attackers.

In this incident, angry locals set fire to three houses of the accused. The situation in the village is tense now.

Speaking to locals and eyewitnesses, it is learned that the deceased Sumon Pramanik once lived abroad. After that, he drove back to the country for some time. Later he was doing sand business. He was returning home after finishing business in the Ananta Bazar area of ​​the district town at around 2.45 pm. Just before he reached home, a group of five to six miscreants surrounded him and started beating him at random. Seeing this, Sumon's wife rushed to the spot and started shouting. The angry people left her and fled. Later, neighbors and relatives rescued Sumon and took him to Pabna General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Rima Khatun, the victim's wife, said in a tearful voice that her husband Sumon was publicly hacked to death in front of her by two neighbors, Titu and Mithu, and their accomplice Manna. When he tried to stop her, they tried to stop him. Later, when the neighbors came forward, everyone fled. He wants justice for this murder.

Meanwhile, when the news spread in the village, the relatives and neighbors of the slain Sumon became angry. They came together to protest. At one stage, protesters set fire to the houses of two brothers, Titu Hossain and Mithu Hossain, and a friend named Manna. Three houses were burnt down and the occupants of the houses fled in fear.

It was seen in the village at around 3 in the afternoon, while the smoke of the fire was still rising from the house. The whole village is in turmoil. Police have taken positions throughout the village. Mourning is going on in the family of the deceased. People from neighboring and neighboring villages have gathered in their homes.

At that time, relatives and neighbors claimed that on December 11 last year, the miscreants hacked to death Bakul Khan, a resident of the village and a UP member of Ward 8 of the union. The deceased Sumon was close to Pramanik Bakul Khan. Their idea is that the killings took place because of that dispute.

None of the accused were found as they were fugitives. When asked, Pabna Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Masud Alam told Prothom Alo that additional police have been deployed in the village after receiving the news. The village environment is calm now. Initially, it was reported that the killings were the result of a previous murder and a dispute over an economic transaction. The matter is being investigated. The body of the deceased was recovered and sent to the morgue of Pabna General Hospital for autopsy.
